Laura Riis (b. 2002, Denmark) is a documentary photographer and full-time photojournalist whose work explores how communities navigate change, with a focus on faith, belonging, and adolescence. Her practice has taken her across Latin America and Pakistan, where she has spent several years documenting the ways people respond to cultural and systemic challenges.
Her ongoing series, Faith in Transition (Pakistan), which explores religious conversion among the indigenous Kalash community, has been published in The Guardian, selected as Highly Commended by the Ian Parry Photojournalism Grant 2025, and nominated for UNICEF’s Photo of the Year.
HEFAT-trained and holds a bachelor's degree in Photojournalism from Magnum Photo & Speos, Paris (2025).
Marie Pastré

It came as a surprise to everyone except Marie Pastré (b. 2000) that she would one day become a journalist. What started as a moment of pandemic panic led her to enroll in journalism.
Today, she is a freelance journalist with a strong focus on human-centered storytelling. Her work spans a wide range of topics, from climate coverage to social and existential issues, always keeping the individual at the heart of the story. She is particularly drawn to exploring the major challenges of our time through a deeply human lens.
In 2025, Marie received a reporting grant from the Pulitzer Center to investigate the working conditions and medical consequences experienced by workers on rose farms in Ethiopia.
Marie holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Southern Denmark and completed her internship at the Danish newspaper Dagbladet Information. She has also been part of Zetland’s talent program 24/26.
