Faith In Transition
The remote valleys of northwestern Pakistan, tucked deep in the Hindu Kush mountains, have long been known for their isolation and resilience. Home to the Kalash, one of the region’s last remaining indigenous communities, these rugged lands are a place where centuries-old traditions persist against the backdrop of modern Pakistan. But today, a quieter transformation is underway—faith. As Islam continues to spread, the Kalash, once animists, are witnessing a steady shift toward conversion, a change that is reshaping families, identities, and the very fabric of their existence.
